About Rope Access
Gone are the days of rope access being used solely for cleaning, surveying and light maintenance tasks at ARP we can now offer additional safe and proven working methods to carry out more complex tasks such as cladding and curtain wall removal and replacement, concrete repairs of all sizes and full glazing replacements in fact, most construction and maintenance tasks at height are now possible via rope access.
IRATA Level one
Previous rope access experience – None
Training requirement – 1st five day intensive course
Ability after course – Under the supervision of a level three technician: inspect own rope system, use rope access equipment, assist with rigging and undertake a rescue involving decent.
IRATA Level two
Previous rope access experience – IRATA Level one plus 1,000 hours of proven and qualified on-site experience
Training requirement – 2nd five day intensive course
Ability after course – Under the supervision of a level three technician: rigging of working ropes, undertake advanced rescue, perform advanced rope access tasks, have some knowledge of legislation and safety requirements.
IRATA Level three (supervisor) required on-site at all times to supervise and oversee rope access teams
Previous experience – IRATA Level two plus an additional 1,000 hours of proven and qualified on-site experience
Training requirement – 3rd five day intensive course
Ability after course – Supervision of rope access works and teams, understanding of working techniques and current legislation, demonstrate all skills of level one and two certificates, demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of advanced rescue techniques, hold a suitable and valid first aid certificate, have a working knowledge of the IRATA training certification scheme, be familiar with the IRATA international code of practice.
